Welcome to

Basuri Research Group

Pallab Basuri’s research explores chemistry at microscopic interfaces, from the generation and characterization of microdroplets to accelerated chemical reactions and the development of advanced analytical technologies. Through interconnected research directions spanning mass spectrometry, microdroplet chemistry, aerosol science, interfacial reactions, and bioanalytical applications, we seek to understand fundamental chemical phenomena and translate these insights into innovative analytical approaches and technologies. About us

Basuri Research Group (BRG) focuses on mass spectrometry and microdroplet chemistry. We develop new, high-throughput ambient ion sources, with a focus on disposable designs for routine use in clinical laboratories, reaction screening, food testing, water quality monitoring, and agricultural analysis. We also study the unique chemistry of water microdroplets to understand how and why reactions occur differently in tiny droplets. We aim to use these properties to develop new approaches for CO₂ capture and conversion.
